Job Description

Operations & Communications Associate
Central Florida Hillel · Oviedo, FL

About the role
Role Overview
Help make Jewish life at one of the country’s largest universities run smoothly, look great, and feel welcoming.

Central Florida Hillel is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and dependable Operations & Communications Associate to support the day-to-day operations and communications of our organization. If you are someone who notices what needs to be done, enjoys keeping things organized, communicates well, and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities, you will thrive in this role.

The Operations & Communications Associate will help ensure that our building is ready for students and guests, our programs and events are well organized, and our communications are timely, accurate, and engaging. You will work closely with our staff and regularly interact with students, parents, donors, community members, vendors, and visitors.

Central Florida Hillel is a busy, energetic, and mission-driven environment. We approach our work with a hospitality-first mindset and believe that every detail, from the way a room is prepared to the way an email is written, contributes to creating a Jewish home away from home for our students.

About the Role
This is a hands-on role for an early-career professional who enjoys variety and wants to develop experience across nonprofit operations, communications, events, and administration.

No two days will look exactly the same. You may spend part of your morning updating the website or preparing an email, coordinate with a vendor in the afternoon, and help prepare the building for a major event later that day.

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, follows through, communicates professionally, pays attention to details, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to help the organization succeed.

This is a full-time, onsite position at Central Florida Hillel at UCF, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities connected to Shabbat, Jewish holidays, special events, and UCF game days.

What You’ll Do
Help manage the daily operations of Central Florida Hillel and ensure our building is organized, welcoming, and ready for students, staff, and guests.
Support Hillel’s communications through email, newsletters, website updates, social media, signage, and promotional materials.
Coordinate logistics and setup for programs, Shabbat dinners, holidays, meetings, donor gatherings, and special events.
Work with staff, vendors, caterers, maintenance providers, designers, printers, and other partners to keep projects and events moving.
Help build strong organizational systems so information, supplies, spaces, communications, and events stay organized.
Serve as a collaborative member of the Hillel team, stepping in where needed and helping solve problems as they arise.
Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day operations of the Hillel building and office.
Ensure public spaces, meeting rooms, offices, and event areas are organized and prepared for daily use.
Coordinate room setup and breakdown for programs, meetings, Shabbat dinners, and special events.
Monitor building, office, and event supplies and coordinate ordering, inventory, and restocking.
Identify facility and operational needs and coordinate with appropriate staff, vendors, maintenance providers, and service professionals.
Draft, proofread, format, and distribute emails, newsletters, invitations, announcements, and other communications.
Maintain and update website content to ensure information is current and accurate.
Assist with social media content creation and scheduling.
Create and update flyers, signage, registration information, and basic promotional materials.
Help maintain consistent branding and messaging across Hillel communications.
Maintain email lists, distribution lists, and other communication systems.
Coordinate event logistics including setup, registration, food and beverage, signage, audiovisual needs, and guest check-in.
Assist with parking operations, deliveries, food trucks, vendors, and other building and event logistics.
Prepare materials for staff meetings, board meetings, donor meetings, programs, and special events.
Provide administrative and project support to the Manager of Development & Special Operations and other members of the Hillel team.
Provide occasional support for donor communications, mailings, stewardship materials, and fundraising events.
Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as needed to support the work and mission of Central Florida Hillel.
