The Summer Camp Counselor serves as a mentor and facilitator, responsible for creating an inclusive environment that fosters the personal and social development of every child. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Safety: Lead a designated group of campers, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times. Maintain a heightened awareness of safety protocols and respond effectively to emergencies or environmental hazards.
• Program Implementation: Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises, adapting curricula to meet diverse interests and abilities.
• Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model, fostering teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship. Address behavioral challenges with positive reinforcement and supportive guidance.
• Relationship Management: Establish professional rapport with families, guests, and colleagues. Provide regular updates to camp leadership regarding camper progress and operational needs.
• Administrative Excellence: Complete necessary documentation, including attendance records, incident reports, and evaluations, with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Professional Development: Attend all mandatory orientations, staff meetings, and training sessions. Participate in special events, including open houses and scheduled late-night/overnight programs.

Position Requirements:

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in childcare, youth groups, or camp settings is preferred but not required.
• Communication: Fluency in English (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with children and adults alike.
• Disposition: A genuine passion for working with children and the ability to maintain high energy levels throughout the workday.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to exert moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 75 lbs., bending, squatting, and sitting. Must possess the endurance required for constant supervision.
• Sensory Awareness: Visual and auditory acuity to monitor multiple campers and identify potential hazards.
• Environmental Exposure: Frequent work in outdoor conditions, including sun, heat, humidity, and rain. The noise level is typically moderate to loud.
